Learn to Play Jingle Bells on the Ukulele!

Painting Studio: The Color Mixing Challenge

6-week course (6 classes): 9 hours total     Grades 9-12
Learn color theory through a series of color mixing challenges and familiarize yourself with acrylic paint along the way. Using a limited palette, students will learn to mix their own colors - including black! You will need acrylic paint (titanium white, cadmium red medium, phtalocyanine blue, cadmium yellow), brushes, palette, and paper for painting.

Painting Studio: Expressive Self-Portraits

Grades 9-12
Get comfortable with acrylic painting through expressive self-portrait painting. Students will improve their painting skills and confidence through quick exercises. Mixed Media Art: Pear Painting

1-Day workshop (1 class)    Ages 5-9
Children will create a pear painting. We will talk about light and shadow. Students will also learn how to mix orange and green. Materials needed: paper, tempera paint (blue, yellow, red, white), paintbrush, and oil pastels (alternate: crayons and chalk).

Textures & Patterns: Printmaking Activity

1-Day workshop (1 class)    Ages 9-13
Students will learn about color, patterns, and textures with this fun printmaking project. We will talk about color theory, and students will choose their own color paletter, whether complimentary colors, monochromatic, etc. In addition to using found objects, student will create their own small printing block out of cardboard and other materials to print a variety of textures in a pleasing pattern. Materials needed: tempera paint, paintbrush, cardboard, qtip, yarn, rubber bands, tape, large white paper, scissors, and various found objects.
